Meet the new way to engage your alumni

Addiction is a lonely disease. For those who have struggled with addiction or know someone who has, you understand that isolation is a barrier to recovery. Even after professional treatment is sought, having a plan to break the cycle of isolation is critical in preventing relapse. We created CaredFor as a way to provide instant access to peers, friends, and family. By creating a community and helping to form lasting relationships we’re helping addiction treatment centers improve outcomes, reach people in need of treatment, and build brand awareness.

Understanding the Need

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) reported that 23.5 million persons aged 12 or older needed treatment for an illicit drug or alcohol abuse problem in 2009. Of that group only 2.6 million received treatment at a specialty facility. For those who seek professional treatment, the risk of relapse is high. The National Institute on Drug Abuse reports that 40% - 60% of persons with a drug addiction will relapse. Addiction treatment centers are continually looking for tools to help them better serve their alumni and reach those in need of treatment.

Our Approach

CaredFor offers an online platform for Addiction Treatment Centers to connect, engage, and influence their alumni. We’re not a compliance tool, our aim isn’t to track behavior, we’re seeking to build a private social network for the provider’s alumni to be supported as they continue their recovery.

The CaredFor platform is more than a secret group on Facebook.

We’ve built a HIPAA compliant, secure, invite-only platform specifically designed for the addiction recovery community. We understand the importance of privacy and the limitations of Facebook groups (closed or secret). With Facebook, even the most basic of information about your group is difficult or impossible to collect. CaredFor’s Alumni Engagement Index allows you to see how active and engaged your alumni are. Instantly see how often your alumni are using the tool, what types of content are most popular, identify alumni champions, highlight alumni who might be at risk of relapse, and more.

With CaredFor, addiction treatment centers can better connect, engage, and influence their alumni.

Connect: The core of the platform is its ability to connect alumni with each other using a facility branded mobile site. As the treatment facility, you’re promoting your brand, not CaredFor’s. The platform works like other social networking sites with real-time posts, notifications, comments, and reactions.

Engage: Built into the platform are tools to better engage alumni groups. Tools like discussions, targeted content, polls, surveys, event registrations, and other call-to-actions help the facility to learn more about their alumni. The result is improved outcomes for current and future patients.

Influence: The benefit of a connected and engaged audience is the ability for the provider to begin to influence behavior. We’re creating a set of modules which help to prevent relapses, connect alumni with sponsors, ask alumni to be a reference for someone seeking treatment, or to make a referral when an addict has decided to seek treatment.

Technology is driving innovation in addiction recovery. Our product is at the center of that innovation; helping to improve outcomes while giving providers the tools to reach new patients. We’ve launched an early adopters program for addiction treatment providers. This program allows providers to partner with CaredFor in developing a transformational product.
